Celebrating Community, Devotion, and Togetherness: Sugama Foundation Hosts Grand Maha Bhog for 5,000 People in Bankura

Durga Puja is not just a festival; it is a profound celebration of community spirit, unity, and shared joy. This Maha Saptami, the Sugama Foundation had the privilege of fostering this very spirit by organizing a grand Maha Bhog at Ichharia Village in the Sonamukhi block of Bankura district, West Bengal.

Marking the 11th glorious year of the Ichharia Naveen Suhad Sammilani Durga Puja Committee, this year’s community feast brought together hearts and communities in an unforgettable display of devotion and togetherness.

A Tradition of Unity Across Villages

With the collaborative support of the Sugama Foundation, the mega event witnessed an overwhelming turnout of approximately 5,000 individuals. People from Ichharia and four neighboring villages gathered under one banner to sit together, partake in Ma’s holy bhog, and celebrate the festive season as one extended family.

The menu featured traditional, heartwarming favorites lovingly served to all attendees, including khichdi, rice, dal, mixed vegetables (panchimisali sabji), and delicious kheer. This heartwarming tradition, sustained over the past 11 years, continues to bridge communities and break social boundaries.

Voices of the Foundation

Highlighting the deeper purpose behind the initiative, the leadership of the Sugama Foundation shared their thoughts on this landmark celebration:

Continuing the Journey of Service

The success of the Maha Saptami Maha Bhog stands as a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together with open hearts. The Sugama Foundation remains deeply grateful to the Ichharia Naveen Suhad Sammilani Durga Puja Committee, the residents of Ichharia and neighboring villages, and all our volunteers who worked tirelessly to make this event a grand success.

We look forward to creating many more moments of shared happiness, service, and unity in the times to come!
